I take your privacy seriously because I value my own. Here is the lowdown on how Orbit handles your information. No legal jargon, just the facts.

What I collect

Account Basics

When you sign up via Clerk, Orbit gets your name, email, and profile picture. This is how you log in and how the app knows who you are.

Your Budgets & Logs

I store the budgets you create and the expenses you log (amounts, dates, notes) in a database on Supabase. This data is only used to show you your financial progress.

Usage & Analytics

PostHog collects anonymous usage data: which features you use, how you navigate the app, and basic device and browser info. Your name, email, and financial data are never included in this.

How I use it

I only use your data to make Orbit work for you. I don't sell it, I don't share it with advertisers, and I don't use it for anything creepy. The anonymous analytics from PostHog help me understand what features are working, what is broken, and where to focus improvements.

Third Parties

Orbit uses the following services to keep things running:

Clerk handles authentication securely. Their privacy policy.
Supabase stores your data. Their privacy policy.
PostHog provides anonymous usage analytics, things like which features are used and how the app performs. No personally identifiable information is sent. Their privacy policy.

Cookies

Orbit uses cookies and browser storage to keep you logged in and to power anonymous analytics via PostHog. There are no tracking cookies, no ad pixels, and nothing shared with third-party advertisers.

Security

I use industry-standard tools to keep your data safe. While no app on the internet is 100% unhackable, I have chosen partners (Clerk and Supabase) that take security seriously and are trusted by thousands of developers.

Your Rights

Your data belongs to you. Here is what you can do with it:

Access: All your budgets and expenses are visible inside the app at any time.
Export: You can export your data from the app settings.
Delete: You can delete your account from settings. When you do, your budgets, expenses, and profile are permanently removed from Supabase. This cannot be undone.

Changes to this policy

If anything significant changes, I will update the date at the top of this page. For major changes, I will try to send a heads-up via email. I will not quietly rewrite this to say something different.
